Management

The mainstays of the firm are the two former banking operations directors who founded it. Mike and Keith have been friends for seventeen years, thanks to a shared interest in hillwalking and climbing. At one point in their careers, they were even fortunate enough to be able to work together on a couple of projects, thanks to relationships that existed between their respective Banks.

Keith M Robertson

Keith started out in retail banking with Bank of Scotland and in over twenty one years with them, ten of which were on the wholesale side, he developed specialist Derivatives market knowledge combined with finely tuned man management skills, which were eagerly sought by Salomon Brothers. Consequently, he spent eleven years in various senior management roles, including Vice President, at Salomon Brothers International in London and Salomon Brothers S.A. in Paris, before being 'headhunted' to work for Deutsche Bank. Keith spent three years as a Senior Director of Operations in OTC derivatives, working in both London and Frankfurt, before leaving in 2000 to set up Struan Resources Ltd.

Mike Tolliday

Mike spent twelve years with Irving Trust Company, culminating as Vice President responsible for all Foreign Exchange and Money Market operations. After the Bank of New York take over, he was asked to project manage the merger of both Banks' considerable global custody operations. As a result of his success with this project, Mike was made head of the Bank's Global Custody and Securities operation, and in the following eight years, Bank of New York went on to become the largest Global Custodian worldwide. In 1993 Mike joined Nomura Bank International as Deputy General Manager with responsibility for Banking and IT operations, and within a year was asked to join the parent company Nomura International as Director of Capital Market Operations. He left in 2000 to join in the set up of Struan Resources Ltd.
